Determination of alkylmercury in fish by steam distillation and cold-vapour atomic-absorption spectrophotometry
Abstract
The fish is digested in alkali, acidified, copper(II) ion is added and the alkylmercury is steam distilled into a potassium persulphate absorbing medium. After conversion into the inorganic form, the mercury is determined by cold-vapour atomic-absorption spectrophotometry.
