Crystal and molecular structures of bis(η-cyclopentadienyl)di-isocyanato-titanium(IV) and -zirconium(IV)

Abstract

The crystal structures of the title complexes have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The complexes are isostructural with an orthorhombic unit cell and space group Pbca, Z= 8. For [Ti(η-C5H5)2(NCO)2], a= 9.689(3), b= 13.265(4), c= 17.500(6) and for [Zr(η-C5H5)2(NCO)2], a= 9.734(3), b= 13.463, and c= 17.964(5)Å. Both complexes show distorted-tetrahedral co-ordination of the metal with the cyanate ligands clearly N-bonded.
