Luminescence spectrum of Cs2UO2Cl4
Abstract
The polarised luminescence spectrum of Cs2UO2CI4 has been measured at temperatures down to 10 K. Vibronic analysis shows that the lowest excited state of the UO2Cl2–4 ion has Eg(D4h) symmetry. Anharmonicity constants (x11 and x12) are derived for the U16O18OCl2–4 and U16O2Cl2–4 ions. The luminescence spectrum does not exactly mirror the previously reported absorption spectrum; reasons for this are discussed.
