X-Ray crystal structure of canellal, a novel antimicrobial sesquiterpene from Canella winterana

Abstract

Canellal (1), a novel antimicrobial sesquiterpene dialdehyde, has been isolated from the trunk bark of Canella winterana; its structure and stereochemistry were determined from spectral and single-crystal X-ray analyses.
