Emission spectrometric analysis of silver using a glow-discharge source
Abstract
An investigation into the applicability of the Grimm glow-discharge source for the determination of gold, platinum, palladium and certain base metals in silver was undertaken. An integrated sputtering factor was used as an internal standard. The accuracy of the results and the limit of detection of the method are acceptable. The silver was also determined by this method, with relative standard deviations of better than 0.09%. The precision for gold, palladium, platinum and copper was better than 5% within the analytical ranges determined.
