Characterization of radiation products from ENDOR measurements. Application to nucleic acid constituents

Abstract

ESR–ENDOR studies on single crystals of nucleic acid constituents X-irradiated at 4 K show that pyrimidine and purine base anions are the primary reduction products. Diverse products are observed as the primary oxidation products in bases, nucleosides and nucleotides irradiated at 4.2 K.
