Limonoids from Xylocarpus moluccensis(Lam.) M. Roem

Abstract

Xyloccensins A, B, D, and F, obtained from Xylocarpus moluccensis, are derivatives of methyl meliacate containing a 1,8-hemiacetal group. A similar hemiacetal forms spontaneously in a model compound. Xyloccensin E is phragmalin triacetate. Fruit of Xylocarpus mekongensis has also been examined; this plant is probably a variety Xylocarpus granatum.
