Switching in poly(N-vinylcarbazole) thin films

Abstract

Switching between two impedance states without any structural changes has been observed in Ag-polymer-Ag structure. The switching delay time (Td) is expressed as TdV–3s. The current which flows in the low impedance state is limited by a series resistor in the measurement circuit. The threshold voltage (0.6 V) and the upper limit value of the conductivity in the low impedance state are interpretable in terms of the simplified trap filled limited conduction model. The activation energies in the high and low impedance state were estimated to be 0.5 and 0.1 eV, respectively.
