The electric dipole moments of furan-2-carbothioamide, thiophen-2-carbothioamide, pyridine-2-and-3-carbothio-amide, thiobenzamide, and 4-chlorothiobenzamide have been measured at 25° in benzene solution. The data obtained have been analysed in terms of molecular solute conformations.
