Determination of the tyramine content of South African cheeses by gas-liquid chromatography

Abstract

The tyramine content of foodstuffs and beverages is of pharmacological and therapeutic importance. A simplified method for its extraction from various cheeses and the application of gas-chromatographic analysis are presented.
