Three-co-ordinated transition-metal compounds. Part III. Electron spin resonance studies on tris(bistrimethylsilylamido)derivatives of titanium, chromium, and iron

Abstract

The e.s.r. spectra of the complexes M[N(SiMe3)2]3(M = Ti, Cr, and Fe) are reported and interpreted in terms of the effect of a large trigonal crystal field on the dn configurations. The ordering of the Kramers doublets for the chromium and iron compounds has been determined by depopulation experiments and substantiated with theoretical calculations.
