The preparation and characterisation of the compounds Na4Tio4 and Na2Zro3

Abstract

Three preparations of the compounds Na4TiO4 and Na2ZrO3 are described and their formulae confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis. The X-ray diffraction pattern of Na4TiO4 is indexed as orthorhombic with cell dimensions a= 11·607, b= 13·610, and c= 9·693 Å, and the compound appears to be one member of an isostructural series of compounds.
