A new and simple method of preparing dichlorophosphinylphosphorimidic trichloride

Abstract

The reaction of PCl5 and (NH4)2SO4 in refluxing solvents can be made to produce almost quantitative yields of Cl3PNP(O)Cl2. Optimum conditions for this reaction are reported as well as reactions involving alternative ammonium salts.
