Magnesium and manganese complexes of citric and isocitric acids

Abstract

Mixtures of magnesium and manganese chlorides with citric and isocitric acids have been titrated potentiometrically at the glass electrode with tetramethylammonium hydroxide at 25° and an ionic strength 0·1. The stability constants have been calculated by a novel computer technique based on the Schwarzenbach procedure. The results have been compared with the available literature data. The usefulness of the technique is discussed.
