The synthesis of ethers by the desulphurisation of sulphenate esters

Abstract

Sulphenate esters have been synthesized in good yield by the action of alkoxides on N-t-butylthiophthalimide; desulphurisation of these esters with tri-n-butylphosphine gave the corresponding ethers.
