Variations in the relative stabilities of the di-, tri-, and tetra-positive oxidation states of the lanthanides and actinides

Abstract

Evidence is presented to suggest that the variations in the ease of interconversion of the di- and tri-positive, and tri- and tetra-positive oxidation states of the lanthanides and actinides may be correlated with the anticipated variation in the corresponding ionization potentials.
