Magnetic nonequivalence of trifluoromethyl groups in NN-bistrifluoromethylalkylamines

Abstract

Below their coalescence temperatures, NN-bistrifluoromethylalkylamines of the type (CF3)2N·CXYZ, show magnetic nonequivalence of their trifluoromethyl groups, which coalesce with free energies of activation in the range 8.4–15.8 kcal./mole.
