The automatic determination of original gravity of beer. Part III. Automatic sensing of peaks and calculation of results
Abstract
The development and use of a simple electromechanical system for use with a potentiometric recorder is described. The conditions for operation of a routine automatic analytical system, at the rate of 30 samples per hour, are discussed in relation to the use of the peak-detecting system for conversion of pen deflection into a significant analytical result. A comparison of the results of analysis of a series of samples of beer for original gravity, by manual calculation and an automatic recording and print-out system, is presented and discussed.
