The synthesis and some properties of 2-aminoethyl β-D-glucopyranoside
Abstract
The synthesis of 2-aminoethyl β-D-glucopyranoside is described. Its rate of hydrolysis in 2N-hydrochloric acid is 2·2 × 10–5 sec.–1 at 70°, 8·2 × 10–5 sec.–1 at 80°, and 27 × 10–5 sec.–1 at 90°. The energy of activation is 31,400 cal. mole–1. The rate of hydrolysis is a little less than that of ethyl β-D-glucopyranoside but is much greater than that of methyl 2-amino-2-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranoside.
