Reactions of sulphur atoms in presence of carbon disulphide, carbonyl sulphide and nitric oxide

Abstract

The formation of S2 following the flash photolysis of CS2 and COS in the presence of inert gases occurs via the complexes CS3 and COS2. In the presence of NO, the rate of formation of S2 is increased and a transient is observed in the region 3500–4300 Å.
