Thin-layer chromatography of polyglycerols

Abstract

A simple thin-layer chromatographic technique is described for separating commercial polyglycerol products into their various components. Two slightly different procedures have been developed, the first of which is suitable for carrying out separations according to molecular weight or chainlength, and the second for carrying out separations of branched and cyclic isomers of the lower molecular-weight polyglycerols.
