Relaxation of vibrationally excited nitric oxide by some triatomic hydrides

Abstract

Relaxation of NO X2Π(v= 1) in D2S, H2O, H2S, D2O and CH4, was investigated by microwave-pulse flash-spectroscopy. Deactivation by all the triatomic hydrides was abnormally fast, and the recorded rate coefficients showed a systematic variation with the minimum energy which has to be converted to translation.
