Cyclic hexameric mercaptides of nickel

Abstract

The reaction of alkylthio-tin compounds of the type Me2Sn(SR)2 with nickel salts has resulted in the formation of hexameric nickel mercaptides [Ni(SR)2]6. Reinvestigation of previously reported preparations of high-polymer nickel mercaptides has shown the hexamers to be formed, as well as polymeric material of variable constitution.
