Synthesis of bay-triaminosubstituted perylenediimides

Abstract

A mild fluoride-mediated reaction opens the way to the synthesis of the previously unknown bay-triaminosubstituted and bay-tri(heteroar-N-yl)substituted perylenediimides (PDIs). TriaminoPDIs show bathochromically shifted absorptions reaching near-infrared with increased extinction coefficients when compared to the diamino ones.
