Supramolecular control over pillararene-based LCST phase behaviour

Abstract

Herein we have successfully developed a novel supramolecular control over LCST-like behaviour induced by low molecular weight compounds. Due to the host–guest interactions involved and the formation of host–guest complexes, the introduction of supramolecular interactions can effectively adjust the thermosensitive phase behaviour in water.
