Green synthesis of mesoporous flower-like TiO2/graphite nanosheets (TGNS) prepared by high-pressure homogenization (HPH)†
Abstract
A facile and green method is developed to prepare mesoporous TiO2/graphite nanosheets composite (TGNS) that possesses uniform flower-like TiO2 particles, high surface area of 337.22 m2 g−1 and a high photocatalytic ability in the visible-light region due to the better surface integrity of graphite nanosheets (GNS) compared to rGO, which accelerates the optoelectronic transmission and prohibits the recombination of the optoelectron and hole (h+), this composite shows excellent near-infrared absorption. The TGNS composite with irregular defects on the edges was prepared using GNS via an environment-friendly physical process—high-pressure homogenization (HPH). Moreover, taking advantage of the broken edges brought on by HPH as starting active points paves a new way for the TiO2 crystal formation on carbon materials. Hence, TiO2 particles can spread uniformly on the GNS.
