Fate of Enterococcus faecalis in stormwater matrices under ultraviolet-A (365 nm) irradiation

Abstract

Ultraviolet-A (UVA) (365 nm) irradiation with intensity of solar irradiance on a sunny day was detrimental to the culturability of Enterococcus faecalis in stormwater matrices. qPCR analysis revealed that the UVA-treated E. faecalis cells remained viable despite the loss of culturability.
