Unexpected nitrile formation in bio-based mesoporous materials (Starbons®)

Abstract

The bio-based mesoporous materials made from polysaccharides, StarbonsĀ® can be modified by two different routes to give high levels of N-content, unexpectedly including significant quantities of nitrile groups which can improve the materials performance in applications including metal capture.
