Rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular carbo-silylation of alkynes via C(sp3)-Si bond cleavage

Abstract

A Rh(I)-catalyzed intramolecular cis-carbo-silylation of alkynes was achieved. Cleavage of an alkyl-Si bond in a trimethylsilyl group of 8-alkynyl naphthalene derivatives was followed by cis-addition to the alkynyl moiety, affording silatricyclic compounds in good yields.
