Synthesis of Block Copolymers by Mechanistic Transformation from Photoinitiated Cationic Polymerization to RAFT Process

Abstract

A novel synthetic strategy for the synthesis of block copolymer based on mechanistic transformation from photoinitiated cationic polymerization to radical addition fragmentation transfer polymerization is presented. The process yielded polytetrahydrofuran-b-poly(methyl methacrylate), which was fully characterized by spectroscopic, chromatographic and thermal analyses.
