Pd@C core-shell nanoparticles on carbon nanotube as highly stable and selective catalysts for hydrogenation of acetylene to ethylene

Abstract

Developing highly selective and stable catalysts for acetylene hydrogenation is an imperative task in chemical industry. Herein, core-shell Pd@carbon nanoparticles supported on carbon nanotube (Pd@C/CNT) were synthesized. During the hydrogenation of acetylene, the selectivity to ethylene of Pd@C/CNT was improved distinctly. Moreover, Pd@C/CNT showed excellent stability during the hydrogenation reaction.
