Ultra-low palladium decorated on nickel nanowires as an effective electrocatalyst for NaBH4 oxidation

Abstract

Binder-free Pd decorated Ni nanowires (Pd/Ni NWs) electrodes are simply fabricated by template-assisting electrodeposition of nickel nanowires and subsequently spontaneous growth of palladium electrocatalysts on the nickel nanowires surface. The Pd/Ni NWs electrode presents superior electrochemical activity and desirable stability towards NaBH4 electrooxidation in the alkaline environment.
