Synthesis of Borasiloxanes by Oxidative Hydrolysis of Silanes and Pinacolborane using Cu3(BTC)2 as Solid Catalyst

Abstract

A convenient method for the synthesis of borasiloxanes from silanes and pinacolboranes using Cu3(BTC)2 as heterogeneous catalyst in acetonitrile at 70 oC is reported. The procedure is more convenient than others based on the use of Ru and Pd homogeneous catalysts, since in addition to avoiding noble metals the starting materials are easy to handle and the catalyst can be recovered from the reaction mixture and reused.
