A bis-corannulene based molecular tweezer with highly sensitive and selective complexation of C70 over C60

Abstract

A new molecular tweezer with two corannulene subunits linked by a tetrahydro[5]helicene imide was conveniently synthesized, which showed highly sensitive and selective complexation of C70 over C60 via concave–convex π–π interactions, and the KC70/KC60 value even was found to be 230/1.
