Double-cocatalysts promote charge separation efficiency in CO2 photoreduction: spatial location matters

Abstract

The double-cocatalyst spatially separated structure was built by introducing Pt (electron trapper) and CoOx (hole collector) nanoparticles, growing on the outer and inner surface of the skeleton of hierarchically ordered TiO2–SiO2 respectively. This novel designation showed an enhanced performance in the photoreduction of CO2 and H2O vapor for the selective generation of CH4 (up to 94.7%).
