Single-crystal field-effect transistors of a highly dipolar merocyanine dye

Abstract

The charge transport properties of a highly dipolar merocyanine dye are investigated in single-crystal field-effect transistors. The devices can reach a p-type mobility value of up to 2.34 cm2 V−1 s−1 and calculations show that the charge transport mainly occurs along the π-stacking direction of the needle-like single crystals.
