Micro-crystals of metal–organic frameworks constructed from pyrene-based organic linkers and lanthanide ions for tunable white light emission

Abstract

A series of micro-sized luminescent crystals of metal–organic frameworks are synthesized from pyrene-based organic linkers and lanthanide ions. The emission color of the micro-crystals is rationally controlled and white-light-emitting micro-crystals are achieved by adjusting the amounts of components (organic linkers and lanthanide ions) and the excitation wavelength.
