Syntheses, characterization, and luminescence properties of three novel Ag(i) coordination polymers based on polycarboxylic acid ligands and 1,3-di-(1,2,4-triazole-4-yl)benzene

Abstract

Three novel coordination polymers, namely, {[Ag2(dtb)(1,3-bdc)](H2O)2}n (1), [Ag2(dtb)(1,3,5-Hbtc)]n (2) and [Ag6(dtb)(1,2,4,5-btec)(CN)2]n (3) (1,3-H2bdc = 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid, 1,3,5-H3btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, 1,2,4,5-H4btec = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid, and dtb = 1,3-di-(1,2,4-triazole-4-yl)benzene), have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 exhibits a 2D sheet, and is further assembled into a 3D hydrogen-bonded supramolecular network. Compound 2 shows a 3D (3,6)-connected (4·62)(42·610·83) framework. Compound 3 displays a 3D structure containing a tetranuclear Ag(I) cluster based on Ag⋯Ag interactions. Moreover, the thermal stabilities and luminescence properties of 1–3 were also investigated.
