A new route through the layered hydroxide form for the synthesis of GdVO4 dispersible in polar solvents

Abstract

A new strategy is described for the synthesis and the size control of REVO4 (RE = rare earths) nanoparticles in aqueous solutions at room temperature. In particular, Eu-doped layered gadolinium hydroxychloride was explored as a representative precursor to react with meta-vanadate (VO3).
