Macrocyclic regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene): from controlled synthesis to nanotubular assemblies

Abstract

An easy and quantitative cyclization procedure based on an intramolecular imperfect aldol reaction from a pre-generated regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) is developed. As an illustration of the versatility of this procedure, the synthesis of a representative macrocyclic poly(3-hexylthiophene) with a diameter of 5 nm is presented.
