[Ni(C17H20N4)4][H5PMoVI8VIV4O40(VIVO)2]·8H2O: confinement of heteropoly anions in Ni-containing rigid concave surfaces with high catalytic activity in the oxidation of styrene

Abstract

An organic–inorganic hybrid solid material, [Ni(m-bitmb)4][H5PMoVI8VIV4O40(VIVO)2]·8H2O (m-bitmb = 1, 3-bis (1-imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene) 1, constructed from a bi-capped Keggin structural anion [H5PMoVI8VIV4O40(VIVO)2]2− (abbreviated as PMo8V6), and saddle shape cluster [Ni(m-bitmb)4]2+, has been synthesized. Compound 1 is also demonstrated to be a high activity for benzaldehyde in the oxidation of styrene.
