Nickel N-heterocyclic carbenepyridine complexes that exhibit selectivity for electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide over water

Abstract

We report a homologous series of nickel(II) complexes supported by N-heterocyclic carbenepyridine (Rbimpy, R = Me, Et, Pr) ligands that exhibit high selectivity for reducing carbon dioxide over water under electrocatalytic conditions.
