Reactions of Ar′CrCrAr′ with N2O or N3(1-Ad): complete cleavage of the Cr–Cr quintuple interaction

Abstract

Reaction of Ar′CrCrAr′ (Ar′ = C6H3-2,6-(C6H3-2,6-Pri2)2) with heterocumulene reagents N2O or N3(1-Ad) resulted in Ar′Cr(μ-O)2Cr(O)Ar′ or Ar′Cr(μ213-N3(1-Ad))CrAr′ which have no metal–metal bonding.
