[2.2]Paracyclophane-1-yne: preparation and structural analysis of the bis(triphenylphosphane) platinum complex

Abstract

The first platinum complex of [2.2]paracyclophane-1yne with a formal triple bond in the two-carbon bridge is prepared and fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques as well as an X-ray crystal structure analysis; accordingly, it is best described as a platinacyclopropene.
