Barium(II)-ion assisted monodeacetylation of partial-cone calix[4]arene-crown-5 diacetate. A convenient preparation of partial-cone calix[4]arene-crown-5 monoacetate

Abstract

The barium(II)-ion assisted monodeacetylation of p-cone calix[4]arene-crown-5 diacetate 4 in MeO/MeOH is a fast and convenient method for the selective preparation of p-cone calix[4]arene-crown-5 monoacetate 5. which is not readily accessible by direct acetylation of the parent bis-phenolic compound.
