A novel ‘anchored’ palladium(II) phosphinated montmorillonite: the first example in the interlamellars of smectite clay

Abstract

Montmorillonite containing PdCl2 anchored via pendant phosphinated groups in the interiamellar region has been synthesized, characterized, and found to hydrogenate terminal alkenes and alkynes selectively.
