Abstract

The structure (I) of pseudomonic acid A, 9-{4-[5-(2,3-epoxy-5-hydroxy-4-methylhexyl)-3,4-dihydroxytetra-hydropyran-2-yl]-3-methylbut-2-enoyloxy}nonanoic acid, has been established from n.m.r., mass spectral, and degradative studies of its methyl ester and various derivatives.
