The complexes formed when thio-ligands react with [Fe(NO)2X]2 have been reinvestigated. E.s.r. and Mössbauer evidence are presented which show that the complexes should be formulated as Fe(NO)2LX rather than [Fe(NO)2L]+X– as originally proposed.
