Metathesis of unsaturated fatty acid esters by a homogeneous tungsten hexachloride–tetramethyltin catalyst

Abstract

Metathesis of the methyl estrs of certain unsaturated fatty acids using a tungsten hexachloride–tetramethyltin catalyst gave the expected alkenes and dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ethers.
