Nitrogen scrambling in 2-pyridylnitrene

Abstract

Substituent- and 15N-labelling in 2-pyridylnitrene (V) demonstrates nitrogen scrambling in the gas phase via an intermediate which has the geometry of 2,7-diazatropylidene (VI).
